28 bags of leaves

We were those people who never raked our leaves in the fall. Since we just moved about six months ago, we're not real sure what sorts of foliage we have in the backyard. We are country folks who have uprooted to the city. So this is the first time we've ever had an actual yard to care for as opposed to a field. We have spent the last two weekends working in the yard. And we love it. Really we do. We are going to make a great retired couple.

We hand raked 28 lawn and leave bags full of leaves. Oh yes we did.

Here are some before and afters

And so far the only money we have spent was the cost of the big leaf bags. We moved some stone that was layed around the trees over to line a bed by the back door. And then we moved the stepping stones over a bit to follow the line of the bed. We still have a lot we would like to do. We want to put out some seed for grass, but we're not sure if it will make it. We have a lot of shade. And once it's time to plant flowers, I would like to add a few big planters around the front tree.

We had some awesome help.......

Kaplan did help move some sticks. Then he looked at me and said "I workin' mommy"!

Looking at these pictures makes me happy. I can go to bed and dream sweet dreams of bbq's and playtime in the back yard. And I'll try not to remember how evil the mosquitos are in the summer....
